April 2024 Roundtable Discussions were Held

Microcredential

The Roundtable Sessions were held in English on April 17 to 18, 2024 at the conference room of the Faculty of Education with the participation of three invited researchers from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) and five researchers from Ehime University.

Roundtable 1

Roundtable 1 was held at 9:00 to 12:00 on Wednesday, April 17. The topicis was the design of institutions and systems for microcredentials. The presenters and their titles were as follows.

  • Dr. Eiji Tomita, Faculty of Education, Ehime University / The point of contact between Japan’s credit recognition system and micro-credentials
  • Dr. Greg Tabios Pawilen, UPLB / Weaving Experiences of Philippine Higher Education Institutions in Designing Micro-credentials
  • Dr. Osamu Kobayashi, UPLB. Osamu Kobayashi, Institute for International Relations Organization, Ehime University / Prospects for the use of digital badges and micro-credentials in Ehime University in the “Project for Strengthening the Ability of Universities to Expand Globally” of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology 〜Accepting International Students from ASEAN Countries to Japan and Promoting Their Settlement〜
  • Mr. Teodoro Peralez Ramons, Faculty of Education, Ehime University / Ehime University Kokorozashi Learning Management System – Functionality and Updates

Roundtabule 2

Roundtable 2 was held at 13:00 to 16:00 on Wednesday, April 17. The topic was the content development for microcredentials, the presenters and their title were as follows.

Roundtable 3

Roundtable 3 was held at 14:30 to 16:30 on Thursday, April 18. The topic was to clarify the direction to proceed in this project and specific next research steps based on the contents of this roundtables. Named Participants are Dr. Rufo Gil Z.
