June 2024 Research Meeting was Held

Microcredential

Research meeting of Micro-credencial was held at Ehime University on June 24, 2024. Micro-credentials are individual credits of study that are more finely divided than those obtained from a degree, and the formulation of a common framework and the development of legislation are rapidly progressing also in Japan. In April, Ehime University invited professors from Keio University and the University of the Philippines Los Baños to give an international lecture. As the second step, on Friday, 14th June, 2024, we invited Ms. Chikako Mogami, Director of ITpreneurs Japan Asia Pacific, and Professor Takayuki Araki from the Graduate School of Social Design to hold a research meeting. Ms. Mogami introduced the concept of “agile,” which is an effective development method in an environment called an era of uncertainty and rapid change, and examples of its application. Professor Araki introduced advanced case studies, such as the issuance of digital badges that certify learning history at each university, and the use of badges to badge their skills and experiences by high school students and working people. It is expected that the use of digital badges will become more active in teacher training in the future, so we will continue to research in the future.
