Micro-credentials are “shorter forms of a learning experience as compared to the traditional formal degree programs with a stackable certification.” The idea is not new. However, with digital technology and current social needs, micro-credentials are now bringing transformational impacts on higher education systems beyond national borders. In the Lecture, Dr. Masahiro Inoue, a leading expert in this field, talks about the current progress of the international micro-credentialing framework and guidelines for digital issuing in the Asia-Pacific region. Following the lecture, Dr. Greg Tabios Pawilen from UPLB and Dr. Toshiki Nakai from EU serve as discussants. Anyone who is interested in the future of higher education, recurrent education, and how universities should respond to disasters and social changes, is welcome to join us!
